Thought I would post my resent project:

Thought I would show you what happened to my trailer over 9 months time:

Here is what I started with:rickstrailersideviews006.jpg?t=130999283

Here is first of several steps getting to finished product; god it hurts to cut it open:

Sorry but my hand was shacking from what I committed myself to!

Now you go to the glass/bondo work:

Now comes the fun part: paint (always good to see):

But now the fun part; SANDING!

Then you get to the final stages; adjustments, no this is not the final alignments, you will see that soon!

Now the electrics and final adjustments (how much Schmidt could a bushtec hold if a bushtec could hold Schmidt):

Then it comes together:

And now you get to ride it!

When all is done; a 20+ year old bushtec can look like this:

Hope you enjoyed the trip (have no less than 100+ pics); but I think this shows the story.

Remember if you can see it in your minds eye, you can do it!

Rick

(Thanks for the outstanding posting help A1)

Got several PM's asking to see what inside looks like. Thought I would just show a Pic here. Tried yesterday but I screwed up picture insert. Gee does that surprise you A1?

Hopefully this works:

0601091630b.jpg?t=1310590092

Trailer has it's own battery, with remote control opener (mechanical backup), remote control florescent inside lighting, along with a 12 volt (cigarette lighter) power supply.

I connect a small power inverter to it to run my lap top, charge my cell; that kind of thing. Put a digital volt meter in it to tell me when to reconnect it to the bike to recharge it. I turn the volt meter on when running independent of bike.

Picture was taken with my old cell phone so picture quality is less than optimal. Inside color is grey and black, but I suck at upholstery so I will have to have a pro re-do it.

The two posts sticking up are mechanical door openers (spring type pushers) that hot rod builders use when shaving their door handles, they push to top up enough for the gas struts to open it the rest of the way.
