Finally got a little break in the rain, so I got out for a short ride yesterday.  It's supposed to warm up and clear a bit more later today, so I'll run her down the road and enjoy it while I can.  I must say, adding the MBL risers to the handle bars has been awesome.  I now ride setting well back in the seat and not having to reach.  It even feels like it steers easier requiring next to no input to turn.  Love it.  I'm going to be adding some LED glow lighting to her as well.  I'm not into a lot of chrome nor is Leslie, but she saw a bike with the glow underneath and the radiators illuminated and instantly said we had to have that.  I've already got the ring of fire on the front wheel, so I'll add blue strip lighting to the frame surrounding the rear wheel, and a strip or two in each radiator vent to give them that added accent.  I'm also waiting on a Honda OEM voltmeter.  I currently have the led gauge behind the speaker grill, and it works well, but I find if I'm not at the right angle, It's difficult to see.  It's a minor issue at worst, but having the OEM on the right panel means a quick glance tells all.  Also looking at adding a CB.  The folks I ride with use theirs to keep in touch on the road, so It just makes things easier if I'm in the loop as well.  Now, maybe an after burner...…….:puzzled-smiley-emoticon:

Getting ready to walk out the door, take a ride, and maybe take some new pictures of Black Beauty.  Update on my new voltmeter, it was shipped to the wrong guy!  The seller has tried to get him to send it back so he can get his part and I can get mine, but he's dragging his feet.  I told the seller I'd give them another week, if the part isn't back to them by then, I'll take the refund they offered and buy an alternative I've found.  We'll see.

No word on my voltage meter yet.  Got out for a short ride then on to Denny's for breakfast with the GWRRA chapter.  I'm going to start measuring out and cutting the led ground effects lights and getting the wiring run for that.

When I got off work Wednesday morning, one of my supervisors said I should ride his HD home and then ride it back to work when I came back later that nite.  l  I might have considered it except that I had my wing at work Tuesday nite and it was going to rain Wed nite, meaing I would have to ride my wing home Thursday morning in the rain if I left it at work during the day on Wednesday.  I know that might be confusing to follow.  I found him again a few minutes later and said I would have taken it home if I had my cage there so it would be waiting for me when I got back to work later on Wednesday, but I would take it for a ride.  I had to call hime from the parking lot to find out the secret to starting it and off I went for a little test ride.  His HD doesn't provide as much protection from the wind as the wing, so it was more than just another loud HD, it was also a cold ride.  We might swap rides some day soon, for a RnD, before he moves out of state next month.  I'm sure he will get the better end of the deal.

Don't worry, I will definately convert hime to a wing before he converts me to an HD.

I finally got Leslie out for a ride today.  All the upgrades and work on Black Beauty over the Winter has made for an incredible ride.  The ride was smooth, quiet, and very, very stable.  We almost caused a drop top cage driver to crash.  The radio was cranked, Leslie was dancing on the back, I'm riding hands off and doing the Dad dance.  We thought the guys head was going to unscrew as he turned to watch us.  The upgrade to the rear preload system which included replacing the OEM rubber hose with a nice new stainless braided one, a new Progressive spring, and fresh oil in the system, made the ride wonderful.  New Progressive springs in the front with new oil as well, combined with a set of MBL risers on the handle bars, and a new 709 front tire, have her handling like a Sport bike.  The new headsets work like  a champ, and since adding the new grounds, there's no longer any buzz or road noise.  I've still got some spiff stuff to do, but she's ride ready at a moments notice for now.  The new stainless shift linkage from DHS arrived today, so tomorrow I'll get that installed and let everyone know how it works.  After todays little ride, we've put another 125 miles on the clock.   :thumbs-up:

The differential plug came while I was out of town  for a few days.  By the time I got home, it got lost or tossed in the trash.  If it doesn't show up soon, I guess I'll be ordering another one.

Rebuilt the shift assembly, received the new Honda Voltage meter (finally), received the parts for the new Ram mount for my Sat radio, got the GoPro mounted, and received my new mesh riding jacket.  Needed the jacket badly, having suffered the ever expanding waistline during my lay off.  Should have everything installed in the next day or so, including the LED's to illuminate the radiator vents and the area under the saddlebags and around the rear tire.

I'm glad I waited before ordering a new plug.  Apparently, it didn't come while I was gone because it came in the mail yesterday, about 3 weeks after ordering it.  If I can find some garage time in the near future, I'll finally be able to change the gear lube.

Still have to get the lights wired in, but the volt meter is in and looks awesome!  The new parts for the right saddlebag came in also, so Black Beauty is pretty and whole once again. 😁

I like it.  It illuminates red at night, which is kinda cool, and it's easy to see.  I got an LED digital guage that would mount in the same location, but in daylight, the display looks blank.  It might work OK in a car.

Polished her up and took a ride with the GWRRA chapter.  Beautiful ride up toward Driggs and through Victor.  Plenty of twisties and woops, plus a great view of the Tetons.  Awesome day with good folks and another 175 miles on the clock.

Decided to put the Ergo II's back on.  I've got about a 7 hour ride to the GWRRA Idaho District rally coming up in June, and figured being able to stretch out a bit would be good.  Since Leslie won't be going on this one, I may put the Utopia driver seat back on as well.  If I can find where I stashed it, I've also got a charging port I want to install in the right hand glove box so I can charge the phone while I'm out.

Got the Ergo II's installed and adjusted after a short trial ride, along with the Utopia back rest.  I also have a beautiful blue glow from beneath the saddlebags after installing a set blue LED light strips, and I've painted the dash black to match the rest of the bike.  I can't do anything tomorrow as I'm committed to BBQ for Mothers Day.  But Monday, I'll be installing the charging port and a pair of LED lights to illuminate the trunk.

The Weather Channel couldn't make up it's mind yesterday.  It was supposed to ran at 1pm, so MrsY and I were going to ride to Ottawa to see her dad around 10am.  I checked the weather before leaving and the rain had been pushed back to 5 pm, so we left closer to noon to see her dad, and planned to keep riding to where ever the mood took us for lunch plus a few more miles.  After leaving home, the sky didn't look like it wanted that plan to happen, so after seeing her dad, we just headed towards home with a stop in Seneca for lunch.  We could see the clouds heading our way, so we ordered the food to go, in case we needed to make a quick exit.  The food came about 2 minutes too late, at 1:30 ish.  The wind hit hard and most headed inside, including us, before the rain hit.  We checked the weather for a clear spot but that wasn't going to be for a few more hours, so MrsY called lil-Y to come and pick us up and then we would go back later to get the wing.  Just then, the rain let up and I decided to ride home.  MrsY didn't share my enthusiasm and opted to wait for lil-Y, probably for the better.  A few miles down the road, I caught up to the slightly heavier rain.  I stayed mostly dry and the wing handled great, even going through 10 feet patches of standing water.  I'm sure running double dark side helped with that.  After getting home, I wiped off the wing and later took it out for a little ride to air dry the parts I cant get to.   Total ride was 60 miles.  Total rain fall, a lot.  The temp dropped from 82* to 66* and then back up to 70* for the air dry ride.

I also pulled the camper out of the garage and cleared it out so the wing could have it's own parking spot back for the riding season.  Playing parking lot attendant to get the wing out for a ride was a PIA for the last 2 months.  I finally feel like summer is here.  Let the good times roll.

I rode the wing to a dentist appointment and a little later, I rode again to 3 stores for some shopping.  I needed to stay close to home today which was sad, but the high winds would have made me not want to take a long ride anyway, so I was happy with the 10 mile total for the day.

After playing with the front brake and clutch levers, I noticed they were starting to show quite a bit of play.  Ordered up a set of replacement bushings from DHS Racing and got them installed this morning,  What a difference!

Y, looks like you and I are the only ones doing anything.  Some of you new guys need to jump on in and share.  :wink-sm:

Since we've gone with the Sirius XM radio on Black Beauty, there hasn't been much use for the FM whip, so today I finally replaced it.    Mounted a nice little stubby in its place.  I don't have to fold the whip down to put the cover on and if FM becomes necessary, I've still got it covered.  Tomorrow the Baker Built Airwings will be here, so those will be installed tomorrow afternoon.

Black Beauty got a thorough fluff and buff this evening.  Tomorrow we are joining a ride with Bikers against Bullies, escorting a group of special needs children to an event here in Rigby.  We want this to be special for these kids and figured pretty just wasn't enough, she had to shine.  After all that prep, she got the cover tonight.  :SmileyTooth:
