The site started out with a video stating that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had given more money to Dodd, Obama, etc. My point was that it was not Fannie and Freddie as entities... but rather the contributions were from individual employees of the two. It has also been stated that Obama gets more money from Exxon as well.... again, it is employees that are making contributions... not the corporation.

Don't know about the bonuses and forged books you speak of. I'm not saying that Fannie and Freddie aren't messed up, or that someone is cooking books... I don't know. All I am saying is that the campaign money came from the workers, out of their own pockets. I don't watch MSM.... too much crap, not enough facts.

well nobama was saying McCain got all this money from big oil... Is that differant? :looking:

I haven't heard him say that specifically, but McCain does get more of his funding from PACs and "other"... and more than half are big donors... $2300 or more. While more than half of Obama contibutors are in the less than $2300 category.

I tend to give too much money to big oil.. Can I be President?

The last two elections have proven that ANYONE can be President. :twitch:

They've also proven that anyone fit for the job, doesn't apply for it.. And it goes back further than 2 elections, and applies to both major party candidates.. It also covers the upcoming choices..

Choosing the lesser of two evils sucks snot..

Unfortunately, you are absolutely correct. After seeing what they have to endure to get to be President, and then the toll it takes after... it's no wonder that so few go after it.

I guess you could look at any choice as the lesser of two evils....

I'm normally not a "glass half empty" kind of guy, but I wouldn't hire either one of these two jackasses as my employee, nor any past candidate for years and years.. They're untrustworthy and don't look out for the good of the company.:disagree:

On the other hand, they're politicians..

I hear ya. It is difficult not to be cynical. I could be wrong, but I have a feeling that Obama will be different. There are a lot of us who are hopeful. I hope he does not disappoint.

As I said, he's done NOTHING in the job he currently holds...

As a matter of fact, he's been completely worthless, and only a pain in IL's butt. Tell you what.. I'll trade you Obama for Jesse..

LOL! I voted for Jesse. He was a breath of fresh air. Said what he thought in real person language... not politcalese.

He's actually a very smart guy, and did a fine job, imo. Unfortunately, he pissed off the media... and they crucified him for it.

Exactly.. That's why I'll trade him... He did more in a week in MN than Oboma's done in almost 3 years, yet so many want him as President??

He and Jesse are both blowhards, but at least Jesse actually did what he said. Obama's never done anything except burn my tax dollars and not represent his own voters.

Hell, take him for free.. Just take him.. And if he wins, remember how Bush was to blame for everything.. If Obama wins, he'll brush all blame off on someone else.. Just watch..

And remember..

Honestly, you can't deny that Bush & Co have not left the country in the best condition. (Yikes, it's getting late... that sentence came out weird... and I can't make it better!)

It was on a severe downward spin before it was handed to him, and THEN we were dealt the whole terrorist issue shortly after that..

I lost the best job I ever had while Clinton had 2 years left of his "service", and it was completely because of HIS approval of "fair trade"..

My life during Clinton times were sparse and loaded with debt.. My life with Bush has been debt eliminating, with a large build up of savings and future investments, and no lack of personal gains (aka-lots of toys)..

I blame Clinton and democrats for a crappy life during their time, and I thank Bush for being there during my increase in income and personal assets..

As far as I'm concerned, the only thing Clinton did was make the military weak and teach kids that playing a flutes aren't "sex"..:tap:

In reality, I have zero issues with people and their choices.. I have made my choice for several reasons, many which I haven't even brought forth here.

That said, one of my best friends AND the guy I'll be hunting with next weekend is a Liberal and I know he'll be voting Obama..

I rode motorcycle and had lunch with him yesterday, installed more RAM in his computer after that, and will be spending the weekend at his home next weeekend where we will both have several guns and knives.. And I know we will only be shooting at deer and using the knives for the same purpose..

If I met Trekguy at a rally today, I'd buy him a beer and we'd laugh about Digger (ok, mostly Mespock) and there would and will always be zero hard feelings..

His candidate choice is wrong, but if he were right like me, then EVERYBODY would be as cool as me and I wouldn't be cool anymore..

The one thing I've learned a long time ago is that I'm not about to be able to change someone's political mind, but if someone tries to change mine, I tell them why it won't happen..

Oh, and the Bears are the best football team!!

Exactly.

What?! The Bears? Now, we have a problem! :tap:

Hah, just kidding... I gave up on the NFL a long time ago. When it started to be all about celebrations, and endzone dances, and DLs running to the center of the field every time they made a freakin' tackle....

When I do watch... it appears to be better than it was... but it may be too late to get me back.

It's interesting that the economic environment is better for you now.... I believe that you would be in the minority in that regard. Generally, earnings have not increased much, while the cost of food, gas, heat has gone up considerably.

Having said that, I believe that people's finances are their own responsibility... you have to adjust for the conditions, whatever they may be. We were fine in the '90s, and we were/are fine in the '00s.

Also, I think it's interesting to note, that when people discuss politics, the discussion almost never revolves around actual policy/philosophical differences.... but the usually incorrect stereotypes and exaggerations... on both sides.
