Devans 0 July 7, 2010 Well... I did it again. I bought another trailer. I have a friend in Michigan who told me he had a Coleman Caboose trailer he was going to sell. I asked him to send me some pics and tonight, I bought it. Now to get up there to get it. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with it quite yet. I have 2 ideas... 1) Clean it up, fix what needs fixin' and resell it 2) Tear the topper off of it, keep the frame and build me a teardrop camper. Here are a few pics he sent me... If I can't sell the trailer, or don't sell it... this is what I will be doing with the frame....:yes:
beenshot 309 July 7, 2010 looks promising either way.
Devans 0 July 7, 2010 I think so... it seems to be a pretty good trailer. Im trying to talk them in to meeting us in Chicago with it.
beenshot 309 July 7, 2010 take a good spare or two with you, the tires are probably as old as the trailer.
Devans 0 July 7, 2010 He told me that he replaced them last year. I was thinking of taking a set of bearings though and changing them out b4 heading home.

RESCUE-K9 0 July 9, 2010 Whats it like to pull a trailer with a bike?
Devans 0 July 9, 2010 The stopping distance increases, obviously, but other than that not much difference that riding without one. Pulling an empty trailer will bounce a little on bumps. The main thing is to never forget it is back there no matter how well it pulls.
Joep 34 July 9, 2010 and to swing a little wider in the turns.. and no cutting off that car you passed.. think like a semi and you are go to go.. ( if you put flags or poles off the rear when you look in the mirrors you will be reminded it is there..) also you should only load these about 250 lbs max.. 25 lbs tongue weight.. ( they can hold over 650 lbs) otherwise you will be pulling down mpg and stressing the motor a bit more..
clapton1 0 August 14, 2010 There is a teardrop near me for sale sittin in same spot for a while now. I never stopped because I couldn't afford to really buy it. Also my 1200a didn't have a hitch. My 1500 does but I think I'm going to wait until I can afford a timeout trailer or similar. I would be happy to check on it for you if you like.
