Thanks for the red carpet.

Yep, I'm bikeless and uncertain whether that's going to change but if it does, there's a high chance it'll be a 2019 or later GW.

In 1974, when I was about 12, my Dad bought subscriptions to the popular m/c magazines of the day.  We spent hours together looking over the pre-release and release photos of the GL 1000, which he held to be the standard by which all other (and by definition, lesser) bikes would be judged.

That mindset has stayed with me through the decades, and although Pop is now cruising the backroads and byways of the Great Beyond I still carry that mindset.  My previous bike was a 2004 ST1300 that I had for 5+ years, and which I loved dearly.  Unhappily, it died against the back bumper of a pickup truck this past autumn, leaving me without a ride and questioning whether I should / will try again.

I've joined this and a couple other GW fora in hopes of picking up the vital bits of information that lead to informed decisions.  I know the 2018 models were prone to a number of glitches and teething troubles, common when any complex system is radically redesigned.  I know also that Honda issued a series of software patches and other fixes to address at least some of the issues, but I've not yet been able to find (or glean) a definitive statement that all of the ills were cured in the 2019 or later editions.  Anything anyone can offer one way or the other in that regard will be gratefully received.

Thanks!
