Hey all!  I have a 1995 GL1500SE.  The radio, on its own, mutes and unmutes.  I have tried cleaning out the switch on the handbar on the left side.  I am wondering if I need a whole new switch.  I cannot afford it so i am wondering if I can disconnect the switch from the radio and just control the radio from the center counsel.  Please help.  I even tried yelling at it.

Mine will mute if I have the intercom turned on and the wind hits one of our microphones, check the settings on the intercom and mute knobs on the radio control panel, they might be the cause of your muting.

CB will mute the radio if squelch is broken by incoming signal.
