bad wires on Rectifier - '78 GL1000

I've finally decided it's time to change out the rectifier but think I made a mistake... When I was cutting the bad wires out I didn't keep track of which yellow wire goes where on the rectifier! Does it matter?

When looking at the wiring diagram schematic... yellow wire #1 comes from the stator/alternator, yellow wire #2 comes from the stator/alternator and the regulator, yellow wire #3 comes from the stator/alternator but I think it is switched because the diagram shows it going thru the Starter Engine Stop Switch! Some explaination of all this would be great! and I need to know if it matters which yellow wire is connected to which terminal on the rectifier? If so how do I figure out which wire is which!?

Also I found a extra green wire that was NOT connected to anything when I was disconnecting/cutting the bad wires out ! What should I do with it!?

See pictures of bad/melted wires... what I have not after cutting wires... the replacement rectifier... and the color wiring diagram schematic...

The three yellow wires doesn't matter if they are in the same order as the stator produces and delivers 3 phase AC voltage through them.. Can't help on the green wire.... Sorry...
