I installed L E D's in my brake/marker lights now the tail light warning light in the dash comes on.

Why is this ? do I have to install a resistor like the turn signals use?

I have a 1984 Aspencade and am trying to cut down on power consumption.

Thanks for any and all help.

Danny

I believe you do but I don't have a clue as to what size you'll need... If you're worried about the stator and regulator being overloaded AND if you don't have all kinds of "Bling" lighting on it, I'd concentrate on the basics of having good, robust, soldered connections on the charging system starting with removing the stator connector, then the regulator connector and then bypassing the 30 amp dogbone main fuse located on the starter solenoid with an inline fuse. I did this to my Ltd Ed back in '07 and have had no problems since...

Good Luck with her!!

There is also a brake light sensor under the seat.  I believe the wire going to the dash light was white on my 86-I, and I just snipped the wire.   If you want to go this route you should check a wiring diagram for your model.
