Gl 1800 Radio static

Just purchased a 2001 gl1800 the rear speakers were shot .  Replaced all four speakers , but when riding the radio has a ton of static Am and Fm stations. What might be the cause of this ?

Weak signal?  Could be a bad ground to the antenna system and/or dirty connectors.

I agree with Flylow, sounds like the antenna connectors may be lose or dirty.

Do front speakers sound OK when rear speakers are disconnected, or when 'fade' to the front?
