Hey all, This is Antonio. 1st prize for oldest bike. Thank u all for all the hospitality you showed me last week. It was wonderful to have seemingliy attached myself to such a welcoming new family. Unfortunately it came sooooooooo close to being my last family. Saturday night, June 15, I was rumbling(rosebud's noise) along, totally relaxed, when a missing spy space shuttle rammed into the back of woody(trailer). it slipped off the earth's crust and flew up back into the clouds, going missing once again. Before i had a chance to realize what happened, I had already bounced a few times....among other things.. and was looking up and straight ahead at my transport about 50+ feet ahead.......well, it finally happened.....thats what it feels like...ouch!!!! immobile but i kinda felt i would not be paralyzed or disabled for life. I have, not a new family now, but another that is helping me to recover. one operation was on Sunday, the next on Saturday. there will be a few struggles for me in the near future, the current is finding some clothes to replace all the ones that were sawz-alled off on the side of I-91. lost my phone too, borrowing a computer from the hospital to help me find a reasonable place to live locally, communicating with bickering insurance, and trying to find a lawyer....on that note, the space shuttle pilot was soon arrested for drinking and drivng, and hit and run. now the fun part, the future, just got all changed around on me.

please excuse my typing mistakes. have picked the least painful of my fingers where all tips have been broken.

I hope  you all made it back safe and sound.

Be Well

Antonio

On no, Antonio!!!

this is so sad to hear about.

Wish that we were closer to you so that we could help you out.

I greatly enjoyed our visit about your travels around the world, and Cynthia did also. She was with us when we talked about where all you had been.

For those who didn't hear that conversation, Antonio has been teaching English is a lot of countries around the world.

He has worked in just about every country, and all of the oceans on our planet.

He is a true world traveler...

Best of luck for you in finding the right lawyer Antonio, my accident took 3 years for the insurance crap to get done with. :(

John

I only know of "Law Tigers" by name, have no experience with them at all.

In my accident, I was referred to a specialist who deals with truck accidents, as an 18 wheeler left its' lane and sidewiped me into a concrete center median wall.  My lawyer took the case on "Contingency at 33% if he wins"

He won, hard for the other guy to prove it was my fault with their truck straddling the median wall :)

As I mentioned earlier, it took 3 years for my case to be closed.

I decided to accept an "out of court" settlement for a lessor amount of money, as a court battle would have taken another 4 or 5 years to get resolved.

And then the lawyer fees jump from 33% to 45% of whatever I might gain....

Simple mathematics made it a clear picture for me, I needed the money now, and any potential gain was going to be offset by delays and higher lawyer fees.

Well darn!  That puts a somber spin on events.  Glad you are still holding the ground down rather than holding it up!  Praying for a speedy recovery and that the offending party is held accountable.

Hi....oh that oxycontin(sp?)........ithe law tigers want 33 1/3 % if i settle and 40 % if i go to court. ill try calling steelhorse but maybe all the same.

im in springfield ma. maybe a little tooooo far to visit. the wing is an hour north under a tarp with all my belongings. people donated some clothes today, including some scrubs, great for hanging outside pretending to be a doctor trying to pick up little old grandmothers :-)

im at the bay state medical center room 727, but they are trying to get rid of me. lots of road rash so not sure how that wil work out. found a motel room for a month starting monday. then back for an operation to replace a tendon in my right pinky on wednesday. back and forth for awhile for redues and stuff, so may be here for awhile. then i have to figure out what to do about my old transport and my new.....thanks everybody

Oh my . This is sad news to hear . Prayers for good, quick recovery.

Antonio, I did a search " motorcycle accident lawyers in Springfield Ma " and found HG.org  legal resources.  You might look to them to find some local personal injury lawyers . Just be careful not to sign anything till you have competent representation.

So sorry to hear this, I was looking forward to getting to meet those I had not met in person, but unfortunately I had been hospitalized the day before I was to leave to come out there with a heart attack.  I am still wishing you well, however, and hope and pray for the best for you.  The bikes can always be replaced, we ourselves are a little harder to replace.  Get well soon, and I hope to one day get to meet you in person.   BTW to those who want to know, I am doing fine, and I will be at the ES M&G in Eureka Springs!

Sorry about your mishap Antonio. Lawyers are lawyers everywhere, heartless shysters one and all. Just pick an eager one.

OMG, glad you are still with us. So sorry to hear about your injuries. Prayers on the way for a speedy recovery. On another note, there are a ton of motorcycle injury attorneys out there. They will all charge 33 1/3% for representation in most cases and 40% if you have to appeal. Hopefully, the insurance companies will do the right thing and you won't have to go through all that is involved in a personal injury case, which can take years to resolve. I worked for personal injury attorneys for 20 years. Definitely, do your home work. Look at the reviews online andd with the Better Business Bureau. All the info you need is out there. Good luck, Antonio.

Antonio, What a lousy end to a great event. So far you are the only lucky one that may get a new bike out of this. All kidding aside, your millennial transport should hopefully get any damage repaired and be ready to go when you are. Hope your NASR 10 "T" shirts survived. If not, maybe you can get a replacement from John.
