Hobo 20 July 19, 2016 (edited) Hi folks and thanks for the welcome. A bit about me........ Like many of you, I was a member of another forum and I have come here looking for some of the friends I have made over the years. I am a bear from Saint-Omer in France. In 2007, my "parents" are Geordiemuppet (Paul) and Christine brought me to their home in Boldon Colliery, North East England. That year, they took me to the first European Meet n Greet in Killarney, Ireland. From there, I went via Silverfox's home to America with my good friend Motorcycle Pete (RIP). Since then, I have travelled with many forum members around America and Europe and I am really looking forward to carrying on doing so. I have some guidelines: - I am happy to travel with any forum member on their travels, but you must update my passport with where I have been and also help me to post on the forum my travels. At the end of your travels, you will also need to help me get to another member so that my travels can continue. I like travelling (preferably on a Goldwing), girls, fun and booze. I don't like Police, jail or Homeland Security as they always seem to take badly to my European sense of humour. (I spell words in real English as well!) I have one date fixed in my calendar and that is NASR 10 because I haven't seen Geordiemuppet and Christine for a couple of years and am really looking forward to catching up. Thanks and it's great to be here! [[Template core/front/global/commentEditLine is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Green Dragon 69 July 22, 2016 Hobo has found his way to us for the short duration of a year. He is now sleeping (and eating) in south east Indiana as a guest of Green Dragon and Dragon Lady! He has his own room and refrigerator. Hard to keep it stocked with beer for him. We did not know he prefers Bourbon Barrel Stout! Now, how do we add photos to these posts. Drag and drop does not work and I see no method to add attachments to this.

Geordiemuppet 116 July 22, 2016 If you want to ween him off the Bourbon and beer isn't working, try him on a single malt! Or even Pastis from his homeland!
wgj46 27 July 23, 2016 Hello Hobo, so glad you have joined this sight and look forward to seeing you again at NASR 10. I'm hoping that you will have all of your passports with you at this event so that we can all see where you have been visiting these past 10 years. I have already started putting together my pictures of your travels with me here in Canada and will bring them with me to NASR 10. I'm sure there will be lots of discussion about your travels and the many people that you have met. Ride safe!!!!!!

Hobo 20 July 27, 2016 Well, I really hope you cowboys don't think I'm ready to "retire" and give up this freeloading life of mine! These folks have me locked away in a guest room and apparently they think I'm ready to hibernate for the winter! Well not true, I'm ready to rock and roll so let's get the move on! I need a beer and a good cigar!!
Hobo 20 July 28, 2016 I was able to sneak out last night and had a nice dinner at Market Street Grill in Harrison OH. I know, if there aren't any photos then it didn't happen! Tonight I'm heading over to Parker's Grill in Blue Ash, OH to see what kind of trouble I can stir up! Maybe someone will have a phone that takes pictures this time! Wish me luck!!!!

Green Dragon 69 August 3, 2016 Last Thursday Hobo had a great meal at Parker's in Blue Ash,OH. His sirloin looked great and his salad was huge. The desert was a double Godiva Chocolate cake which he consumed in no time flat. He indicated the double shot of Dewar's Scotch was a little too small a serving. A photo will be coming if I can get it off the phone. Friday evening here was no photo ability, but Hobo had a great time at Lil' Charlies Restaurant in Batesville, IN. The big Buck Burger was great but not nearly big enough to satisfy Hobo. Sitting on the patio and chatting with the waitress showed just how smooth he can be. His chocolate chip cheese cake was over sized and still he wanted more. I did not think it would go well with his large, 32 oz, Dark Brown Draft, but he had no trouble finishing it. Thankfully we made him put on his rain gear for the ride home as we would have been soaked coming down Rt 129 from Batesville.

AZgl1800 277 August 8, 2016 Hey Peter, you need to EduKate that camera and tell it the world is not laying down go into the camera's setting and change the default orientation. or, if you are using a cellphone, it is in the Settings somewhere. IF, indeed you are using a cellphone, they always default to Landscape Mode..... do NOT hold it in a Vertical Position, If you do, that is how the pictures turn out. Always hold it in a Horizontal position, and then the pictures will be correct when you upload them. nice pictures, thanks a lot. If you will preview those pictures before you upload them with a program called IrFanView, and then SAVE each picture with a definitive name, IrFanView will correctly orient the pictures so that 'top' is up.... it is a neat little Windows app, I use it almost solely to view and crop pix. www.IrFanView.com . Green Dragon 69 August 9, 2016 These photos were taken with an iPhone 6. Some were taken in landscape and some in vertical. All of them turn on their side when I upload them. When I view them on the attachments page they are all sideways. When I click on any of them to view the individual photo, they are in the correct upright orientation. I am suppose to be able to put them in an album and edit them there for orientation, etc. I can not find where to load them into an album. Still frustrated! AZgl1800 277 August 9, 2016 At the top of the page is a Major Index link to Gallery: http://www.northamericangoldwings.com/community/forums/index.php?/gallery/ Follow that and then click on UPLOAD: Then click on "Create New Album" Be sure to pay attention to the options that are available. It MUST be marked a PUBLIC. Once you Save that Album, then you click on the "Chose Files" which will let you sort through your PC ( best to do it with a PC, cellphones are a PITA ) I just now created an album so that I could relate to you the steps to get it done. My personal album, as of right now, is at http://www.northamericangoldwings.com/community/forums/index.php?/gallery/album/317-azgl1800-general-items-place/
AZgl1800 277 August 9, 2016 Once you have the pictures uploaded to the album, it is easy to link to them in a narrative, one at a time, by using the IMAGE icon above the editor. that makes for a much better user reading experience. For instance, this picture is the front entrance to the Will Rogers Museum, his birth home place. It is only 3 miles from my home.... And here, I continue the narrative and show a picture of a trailer that I am having built. As I can no longer withstand riding in temperatures higher than about 90*, I must travel in a vehicle with Air Conditioning. And, when I get to point 'B', I want to be able to unload my bike easily without using ramps. So, I found the guy who makes this type trailer, and he is making one especially for me, to my specifications. And now, back to "Hobo's Adventures".... Halfling 813 August 9, 2016 OK, I will post this for a bit but be advised that I will be deleting these "off topic" posts as soon as I feel comfortable that everyone gets the idea of uploading pics. There are several ways to do it, the preferred way is to manage your own Gallery via the menu options rather than as attachments (but either will work). DO NOT FORGET the last step is to PUBLISH!
Green Dragon 69 September 25, 2016 The weekend of September 17 thru 19th, (the 18th being my 4th birthday, don't ask), Maureen and I took little trip to the Hocking Hills area of Ohio. On the 17th we stopped near Albany, OH to attend the Ohio Paw Paw Festival. Hobo had a great time. We had to sneak him a beer (Paw Paw beer) so he could have one along with us. He did not have ID so it was a little bit of a challenge. . Later, we headed to The Inn and Spa at Hocking Hills where we had rented a cottage. Then off to dinner at the Millstone restaurant. Then to day we took him to our 2 granddaughters soccer games. They won both games, but Hobo was red carded and had to leave before the las game was over. As you can see he was having a good time.
