I see they just announced the dates for the Cherohala Chill Out at Hunt's in Tellico Plains, TN over on Motocampers.com

The dates they will be holding it on are Friday June 9, through to Sunday June 11, 2017

Holding the 2017 BRP Spring M&G on the June dates in the pole allow some of us to attend both of them!   :thumbs-up:

You forgot that Bill has to officiate standing on top of a picnic table.  Now as for Bill wearing only a thong and a tie.... Pass the mental bleach!

Last year I had set in motion a plan to do Run for the Wall and then come to the meet and greet afterwards.  Due to a family emergency, I had to abort my "run for the wall" ride in Phoenix and immediately fly home to take care of things.  I left my Goldwing and trailer at a friends house in Phoenix.  I returned in July to get my bike, and rode to Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana and then back to Seattle on a solo trip.

I really want to do the Run for the Wall this spring.  This will be my third planning of the ride.  It is not the formation ride with all of the noise makers that is attractive to me.  It is riding for those who can't.  It is riding in honor of my father, who jumped out of air planes during WW2, served in Korea and Vietnam and retired in 1972.  My father passed in 1988.  I am a Vietnam Era Veteran and I have never been to the Vietnam War Memorial.  I did an escort mission when the traveling wall came up from Portland 7 years ago.

My point is, I would love to make it to the Meet and Greet the week after Memorial Day, then travel home after that.  I have some things to solve before I can be gone a month from home yet.  I am working on it.

I would really enjoy being able to stay long enough to take in the Motocampers meeting the next following weekend.  There is plenty for me to do in that area for an extra week.  I really want to take in a Civil War Battle Field tour and I would like to go see Dale's motorcycles at Maggie Valley.

I am going to save my pennies and plan, plan, plan.  I hope to be able to meet you all once in for all.

My attendance this year will depend on my wife's health condition.

I Want to be there, and I shall, either in spirit or presence...

Our daughter asked me just two nights ago about my upcoming rallys..... are you going?

she said that "if mom is gone, I will go with you and we will pull the bike/trailer"...

she wants to see a lot of the country over there.

If mom is gone, then we will drop by Bluffton, IN on the way home and place her ashes with her parents.

I may be missing something as I can't find anywhere a decision has been made on a date for this event   I assume, based on the votes It's going to happen in the June.   If so, both the wife and I are in.

Also, in case it still meant something I did just vote

Sure are.

The 7th is our 20 yr anniversary, so we're breaking up our camping with three nights at a resort outside Pigeon Forge.  Should get to the Chill Out on Thursday.  We'll see you at both!!!!!!

It's about time to do some serious planning and as this will be my first BRP M&G I have a few questions.

1- do I need to make reservation, or just show up?  2- if reservations are necessary is there specific locations (sites) I should focus on?  3- do folks share sites?

And anything else I need to know.

thanks

NO, Randy, no need to make reservations and the cost is per person per night.  ;)

Speaking of costs  .....   :puzzled-smiley-emoticon:     are we going to get a discounted rate again this year, John???

Yes!!  Our rate should still be the same.

I will be cooking breakfast and coffee this year.  For dinner, there is a couple of small cafe's/Restaurants in town that we can just ride down and grab a quick bite.

It looks like almost 10 months since the poll began and nobody noticed the dates for the Memorial Day weekend option are a week off.  As luck (or bad luck) would have it, I'll be working at least part of that weekend and probably all of the following weekend that won the vote.  There was no option to vote for can't attend, so I didn't vote.  I enjoyed the one 2 years ago and would like to make it to another, but it will have to be another year.
