It's almost like it forgets when the last time you visited the forum was.

I know....

Jim told me today, he is going to go through and see why it keeps happening. I deleted a topic last night, and he believes that has something to do with what the software is doing.

Every time a topic is deleted we have this problem...

He is trying to find the problem though. :worthy:

Ah HA! it's Dean's fault this time. :whip:

You'd think that shouldn't really matter to the software but evidently it doesn't like people fooling around with it.

Deleting a topic definitely should not cause the problem we are having, but we are. Thats why Jim is trying to figure out why. We should be able to delete posts or topics all day with no ill affects.

Other forums have had similar problems like that Dean. The Everquest forum I frequented would get freaky after deleting topics as well.

What we did as a work around is established an administrative archive file, so instead of deleting, these topics were moved out of site out of mind.

Threads being deleted when they were supposed to be, was common on the other site. Sometimes, just moving them would delete them.

This is what I have been thinking of doing also. I have read of others doing it as well, and it seems to work.

Some of you may be experiencing this again tonight. It is usually pretty random, but I am getting PM's that alot of you are showing new posts even though you have already read the post.

I will be doing a forum reset (this is the only way to clear the issue) at 10:15pm cdt tonight, which is in about 8 minutes. What this reset will do is clear all new post icons and the forum will show "clean".

So, if there are threads you have not read it will reset them to read. This does not clear any posts anyone has made.... it simply marks the entire forum as read and "starts fresh" as new posts come in.

Sorry for the inconvenience but its the only way.

Thanks Dean.....thought it was my computer here doing that.

Hope it is not down for too long.

The other forum went down for repairs at first for a few hours and now it has been down for 3-4 days......LOL.

The weird thing is that it would happen to me at home but not when I was at work. Does that make any sense to the more computer orientated people on here?? I can tell you that I am not the handiest with a computer, but I'm learnin'.
