Hi Folks,

I've been looking for a while and I'm going to look at a 2010 tomorrow. Low miles, yellow, very clean. I'm going to ride it and check it out. I'm looking for any tips on things to look for, pitfalls to avoid? I've been riding a long time and I know bikes, but this is my first Wing so I don't the bike well. I did have a Valk for a while. Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Graham

I would ask about maintenance records. How often fluids have been changed, what type oil been used for service.

Like your Valkyrie it needs driveline lubrication. Also brake/clutch fluids replaced/flushed periodically.

You'll love the throttle response and starting with the fuel injection. MPG should be a bit better than the Valk but twisting your wrist can make em guzzle too.

I'm GREEN with envy Graham!! The 1800's are amazing rides, YOU"LL BE IN HEAVEN with its power, smoothness, and handling.

My one tip is;

You'll need to learn to keep your hand OFF the throttle at start-up. The shaft to the alternator can be a problem if the engine is cold and you try to rev up.  If that alternator shaft breaks, its time to break out the BIG wallet to fix/replace the engine. Once the engine is warmed up, the dam thing is almost bullet-proof!

Enjoy the ride!!

I got her! The only things I don't like are the lighted do-dads on the front wheel. I'll remove them when I need tires. Other then that I couldn't be happier! Thanks to every one who gave me tips!
